how do i play 1080p videos smoothly - UPDATED AND FIXED!!!!!

Really? What settings did you change? I find that Nero Showtime is the worst for dropping frames on my system.

Nothing. I just tried it and it worked 100% better. Not sure why.

i just installed the 2GBs of ram and the 6600GT. 1080p plays smoothly just like 720p!!!!!

Nero ShowTime does support H.264 acceleration with NVIDIA graphics cards. CoreAVC is faster at the expense of quality, and is no longer free (supported).

Here are tests I performed a while ago using one of the first builds of ShowTime to support the acceleration. It may have improved since.

Yeah, I don't why some folks are so ga-ga over CoreAVC. The whole point of HD is quality so sacrificing that to compensate for borderline hardware may be fine for a novelty (especiallly when free) but not otherwise. If buying a commercial codec, better quality and value can be had from Ahead/Ateme or Cyberlink (especially with HW bundles)... or dare I say even nVidia's package since it does more than AVC for the $20.
