How do I pay a private seller using a credit card?

**Update**
Just searched ebay and found similar units for $1400 brand new. I'm making an account with ebay right now. Is it really necessary to input your CC info to create an account? I feel kind of skeptical on this. Sorry, I'm such an ebay noob. Thanks for the help.

I'm interested in buying an aftermarket dvd navigation unit for my car from a private seller. I don't have the full amount in cash up front ($1500) so I want to use a credit card to pay the seller. Just a reminder this is not an ebay auction or any other kind of auction. What options do I have?

1st of all, be careful and only deal with someone with a good amount of references (or some other verifyable assurances), just for your own peace of mind.

Paypal would work as a credit card option.

I was thinking PayPal too.

<insert normal admonition about credit card debt>

Paypal, as above; or, failing that, get a cash advance using your credit card. Expect to pay through the nose.

Have them put it up on ebay as a "buy it now," with some agreed-upon but cryptic title, so you can grab it before anyone else even sees it. Then you can do it just like any other ebay transaction.
