How Do I PAUSE the console?

I did a quick search, have looked at the docs and I dont see this. I would like to pause the processing when I am gaming so that it does not bog it down. How would I do this?

Do I use a command? A switch?

Thanks!

Pause the console for what??! Which DC app are you referring to? 😕

He's doing F@H...not sure how to pause the console. I've set it up as a service and just stop the service when I go to play.

Allthough, the times I haven't stopped it I haven't noticed and performance hit in gaming. F@H is pretty low on the priority list for the CPU.

Yes, Sorry, Thanks.

BF2 and F@H. 🙂

They set the service to Med Low or Low. I can set it lower. Was just hoping there was some way to pause it. No biggie.

But if anyone does know I would love to know!

Thanks!

F@H will affect some games more than others. Also different types of WUs affect game play more than others.

You cannot pause the console version.

To stop it from the command window they recommend using Ctrl + C

I always thought Windows programs closed cleanly or properly when using the X in the upper right corner 😕

If you have Folding@Home running as a service on your machine, you can pause it. Go to Start > Administrative Tools > Services, then find the F@H service, right click it and select pause 🙂 I don't know of any way to pause the console version however.
