How do I pause a gif?

Something happens as the last piece falls down on the left side, looks like it magically grows.

How do I pause a gif?

Try pressing (KEEP PRESSING THE MOUSE BUTTON ALL THE TIME) the close (X) button, in the top right hand corner. Move the mouse cursor elsewhere, before RELEASING mouse button.

The above works fine for me, using google chrome.

It used to be that you could hit Escape to pause a GIF, but that feature seems to have gone away, presumably because of reasons.


Another option, for reference:
Irfanview has the ability to extract individual frames. Options --> Extract All Frames

Another option, for reference:
Irfanview has the ability to extract individual frames. Options --> Extract All Frames

I'm running the latest SeaMonkey and hitting escape stops all animated images on the page.
