how do i order a internal wireless antenna for my compaq laptop

I just installed the card but unforutnately the antenna was not included. Does anyone know where I can order these other than ebay.

an internal antenna? I think they have to come with the computer.

What do you mean the antenna wasn't included?

Do you mean that there is a jack for an external antenna, but it didn't come with one to attach?

Oh, it's for a laptop.. laptop wireless NICs don't have external antennas do they?

An internal antenna does not come with your laptop if you did not order built in 802.11b access. I have been using a pc card for wireless connectivity. but i bought an internal one and now i need an internal antenna for it.

They are the antenna in most cases. Some have a port to hook one up however (rare)

On my laptop the antenna is built into the border of the LCD screen. I don't know how you would go about ordering an internal antenna if your laptop did not come with one built in? And would it be the kind of thing you could just install yourself?

Well I can install it myself. Compaq just wont let you order it. I have the service manual and have the tech skills to do it. (It really isnt hard)

Well when I finally get around or find those antennas i might post a guide. The last time i posted a guide was on unlocking AMD procs with crayon a few years ago. Oh well i bet no one aound here remebers that.

All the PCMCIA wireless nics I ever bought had an antenna inside the card. That's why they stuck out of the laptop a little.
