How do i make XP not ask me for a user name and password each bootup?

You need the power toys for Win XP. You should be able to find in on the Microsoft download page.

I don't have it in front of me but I believe you go to control panel-->user accounts(settings)-->and there should be an option to use the classic logon or something about the logon:p Just look for it in there, you will know it when you see it.

Delete all user accounts except for one - your own. Since there will only be one user account there won't be a choice.

listen to the previous post if you haven't installed power toys yet... they're awesome and worth it... the graphing calculator is especially good... its just like using a texas instrument... but i digress.

once you've installed them, go to the start menu, and click on Tweak UI from the powertoys menu...

you'll see an option for logon, then a submenu for autologon. just click the log on automatically at system startup option...
