How do I make Outlook 2000 check my email when it starts up?

Did a search and didn't come up with anything...

I recently moved from Outlook Express 5 to Outlook 2000 and am trying to get used to it. It seems like it does not check my email right away when I start it. I have to press send/receive to get it to do anything. Express used to check when I opened it up, which is what I want 2000 to do. Anyone know the option I need to select (and where it is) to make it check automatically?

Hmmm, i never did anything and it always checked. You have one set as the default account right? Maybe you should try waiting a bit... see if it will eventually check mail. I have it in the start up folder so everytime my machine starts up, Outlook launches and checks mail...

Outlook 2000 will check your mail in increments of 1 minute depending on what you set it. When you load the program, the counter starts. It doesn't automatically check. I've been using O2k for a while now, and that's what I seem to have to do. I just set it to check every 1 minute. :)

hmmmmm
Mine checks immediately when it starts up (I use the word "immediately" loosely given how slow this bloated program is). However, when it checks automatically upon startup it does not open up the status window like it does when I hit the send/receive button. Could this be what is happening?

Send yourself an e-mail, close the program, then reopen it and see if you receive.

Nope, it won't check till I click on Send/Recieve.
The program is bloated, but it loads in under 1 second for me...

It checks for mails for me. I didn't change any settings, except for setting up a few imap accounts. It'll say it's checking for mails or something to that effect at the lower-right corner of the app, or it does for me, anyway.

I know it says it down there, but it doesn't do it... grr. I mean, it's that big of a deal, but it would sure be nice if it worked right.
