How do I make it so everyone does not see a folder when browsing

I shared out a folder on one of our servers,under security I added authenticated users and system and removed everyone.
Now only the proper users can access the folder.How do I make it so only authenticated users(for that folder) can see the folder
and not everyone when browsing?

Off hand I can't tell, but if you don't have an answer by the time I get off work I will see what I can find out at home. I know I have done it on my personal computers, but I can't remember how to do it.

All you have to do is when you share the folder and choose the shared name, simply put a $ in front of the name like. If I were sharing Music then share it as $Music and it will effectively be invisible. The only way to see it is to directly search for its path.

Actually, that is backwards.

To share a folder hidden, put the $ after the share name (eg share$).

Its been a while since I'v done it. But I was darn close ya think? Thats a passing grade

When doing that it hides the folder from everyone.Here is an example ofwhat I need
to do.Lets say you have a music folder and under this you have rock, soft, country etc.
If I am in the rock group I only want to see the rock folder when browsing.If I am a
member of rock and country I only want to see the rock and country folders.If your not a
member of a group you should not see the folder.

I don't think you can do that. I think it's either everyone sees it, or everyone doesn't see it, nothing in between...

That's a feature of NetWare that MS says would be to slow to implement (even though NetWare's done it effeciently for years), in other words you can't do it with NT.
