How do I make excel boxes bigger?

This is a very simple question that has confounded me for a long time. I simply want to increase the size of an Excel box, such as the 1 line, I want to make it larger.

you can either combine that box with other excel boxes, either rows or columns,
you do this by selecting all the boxes you want to be the size of the box you currently have, then do ctrl-1, Alignment, Merge Cells, OK

Or you can simply make that entire column or row larger, by sliding the very left row number box (1,2,3), or the column box (A,B,C)

If you want to change the height/width of any number of rows/columns, you just highlight the rows/columns, then go under "Format -> Row/Column -> Height/Width" in the main menu.

Click on the line between the column letter or row numbers, and drag it to resize the row. For example, say you wanted to make column 1 wider, you would click the line between the labels for columns 1 & 2 and drag it to the right. This would make column 1 wider.
