How do I load Windows XP from DOS?

I can"t get my computer to boot to the CD. I thought there was something in the I386 folder, but I tried the SMSS.exe and it said it could not load from dos. Can someone help please? I know I have done it before, but I forgot how.

The command to install WinXP is winnt.exe.

You MUST load SMARTDRV.EXE before installation, otherwise installing will take about 4 hours.
