I have 2 systems set up with this router. What ip do I give people to conect? The ip assigned by the router doesn't seem to allow people to connect. My ftp port is set 1967, but I'm not sure what ip to use for the SUA/NAT set up. Do I use the ip of the machine thats runnin the ftp, the router ip, or the ip assigned by road runner?

Can anyone help me with this?

1)loop up DMZ
2)set your FTP to port 2100 (for example) and use port forwarding to send all incoming requests to your server's IP

Port forwarding is set, port 21 and the ip of road runner is used. What is "loop up DMZ?"

Use the ip that rr gave you. All requests should then go to the router which will forward the ftp port 21 to the server computer. Make sure port forwarding is directed to your server computer by the correct ip addess. this may be a problem if your server computer has a dynamic ip. set it to a static one.

External IP address is the one that RoadRunner gave you. That's the only one that anyone from the internet can see. Keep in mind that this IP address may change depending on the ISP. You might want to check your router to see what the external or global IP address is. And as for the IP forwarding that will go to the FTP server's local IP address. So...give people the IP from your external router and you should be set.

NOTE: You probably won't be able to connect to your external ip address if you do a test... You'll have to do this from outside your network because when you try to connect to yourself, the router will freak(not really the technical term) most likely...
