How do I know which 12V rail my video card is on?

My computer is acting up and i think it's because my two 12V rails aren't properly balanced. i want to put my video card on one and my dvd drive+HDD on the 2nd. any input is appreciated.

Have you checked the manual for your power supply?

the power supply came with a Rosewill case and while there was an assembly manual for the case there wasn't one for the psu.

Hmm, that sucks. You might be able to get the MFG and part number off of the power supply and goggle it.

Your sig references antec stuff, if you simply listed your config we could probably tell you if your PSU is the culprit. Like the wattage of the PSU, and the amps for each of your 12v rails. And then the vid card and rest of your config would help as well.

Often dual 12v rails are in fact a single 12v rail if im not mistaken. Or the cables are hooked up to the 12v rails so that you have the motherboard, cpu on 1 rail, and the GPU, hd's and such on the other.

sry for confusing you. this issue is with another comp, not the one in my sig.

at first glance i'm guessing that ur psu is bad and can't hold up the powerful x1950
