Okay, so I've been suffering for a long time, and I finally break down and go for some help. I've gone twice, but at what point do I say "I'm not getting helped here" and move on?

I'd say give it at least a month of going to him. You can't get fixed with one or two visits. He's just feeling you out, seeing what he needs to see etc. What makes you feel that he sucks?

I'm not saying she sucks, I just don't know because I've never done this before

I'd give it a bit more than twice.

However, if you personally don't feel comfortable with this person, then perhaps a change is in order.

You can move on whenever you want. If this person isn't helping you, you have no obligation to stay with them. I really didn't like my first therapist, so I found another one. However, 2 sessions may not be enough for you to really know...you're really just getting started with them. These things take time..
