I am just wondering how do I know my Dell Latitude D400 has a wireless card or not?
I looked in the System Properties/Hardware/Device Manger/ but I do not see any wireless adapter.

There are two Network adapters:
1394 Net Adapter #2
Broadcom 570x Gigabit Integrated Controller

I am using Windows XP Pro. TIA

go into bios and 2nd or 3rd page will tell you if its got wifi mini pci or not.. also sometimes its turn OFF in the bios, so it wont even show up in the computer hardware.

ebay has those card cheap, i think the intel 2200g was like 20 bucks + 7-8 shipping..

easy to put in also..

If you have built in Wi-Fi, you normally have a keyboard switch (on/off) for it. When mine is ON, there is a blue LED that shines. If OFF, no LED, and it does not show in Device Manager. If ON, it does show under NETWORK ADAPTERS. If it is connected in a hotspot, you get a tray icon. If it is ON but not connected, that icon carries a red X.

If you've got an icon in your system tray that shows a monitor with waves coming from it, you've got wireless.
