How do I know if my Case/PS is AMD Thunderbird compatible?

I've got an Enlight 7237 case and I need to find out if it is ok to run with something like the GigaByte GA-7ZXR or the Abit KT7.

Thanks.

A 7237 comes with a Enlight 250W power supply. The power supply is Athlon apporoved, but I wouldn't plan on putting to much load on that 250W! ;)

Any recommendations for a decent affordable case?

I'll be OC'ing a Thunderbird 800 as fast as it will stably run.

I've got (2) harddrives, a cd reader and a cd burner in the case.

thanks!

TechpimpDotCom,Just buy a ATX 300W AMD approved PSU(Sparkle,Antec etc) & you can use your same case, unless you want to go all the way with a new case & PSU.Btw I presume your case is ATX?

:)

I'd say stick with the Enlight. I can only forsee a problem if you pile on three CDs, four harddrive and an s-load of fans. Do it. It's hard to beat the quality of the 7237 case.

Of course, if the P/S ever does become overwhelmed, you can just buy a bigger P/S later.

I love how well built and rugged the case is, but honestly I detest the fact that it doesn't have a side removable panel.

You can't go wrong with trying it, otherwise, just buy a 300W and keep the case.

Get the ABit KT7, it is a very good board

Wow! That must be an old 7237. I have one that's a year old and even it has the removable side panels! :Q

Yes it is old, actually its probably between 3 - 4 years old.

And guess what, even though its an Enlight case, I just looked at it has a DTK 300watt power supply in it! Hmm, I'll try and search on AMD's site, but I wonder if that power supply is approved. I do find it odd as I bought this case brand new and always assumed it had an Enlight Power Supply.

The DTK PS part number is #PTP-3018

DTK chassis and chassis parts ARE Enlight. KEEP THE POWER SUPPLY. That's a good'n. :)

Hey guys, I realize that there can be stability problems with weak p/s 's but I think there is a bit too much hype on this stuff. I have a generic 250W ATX p/s that works great with my Abit KT7, Duron 600@910@1.85VCORE, 4 fans, 9.1 gig HD, 4.3 gig HD, 32x CDROM and 4x2x24 CDR... Good Luck!
