hi,
i surf with firefox and update xp always, and try to use the latest in sun java. i use panda platinum for virus protection. however every once in a while, i will get these javascript viruses show up when i scan my computer - like so:
Virus detected: Exploit/ByteVerify On-demand antivirus scan 11/21/04 22:01:04 Disinfected Path: C:\Documents and Settings\Carl\Application Data\Sun\Java\Deployment\cache\javapi\v1.0\jar\tlb_tst.jar-4b55bf0e-307cb1e4.zip[Dummy.class]
Virus detected: Trj/Downloader.VL On-demand antivirus scan 11/21/04 22:01:04 Disinfected Path: C:\Documents and Settings\Carl\Application Data\Sun\Java\Deployment\cache\javapi\v1.0\jar\menu.jr-4e09e850-3bd34fa6.zip[javautil.zip]
just now i did a scan, i had over 50 such viruses, almost all of them being the "exploit/byteverify" type.
i'm just not sure how these are getting installed, as panda doesn't warn me as part of its permanent file protection, it is only picked up from an on-demand scan.
any ideas how to stop these in the future?
