Seriously all the FAQ's ive seen dont detail it step by step, they start with "insert the install cd" and go from there. I have a 600 odd mb file sitting on my desktop... I unzipped it and put all the unzipped files onto a cd, figured that was enough, but its not bootable. How do i make it bootable so i can install ubuntu?
BTW on a related note: can the software with ubuntu 5.10 resize my primary partition? I have one 80gb hdd, and i want to create two extra partitions on it, one for windows 98, the other for linux, and i read that it can be done without erasing data, most applications that do this cost £££ but apparently the stuff with ubuntu can do it, so ill have no data loss. Is that true? Will my plan work?
