How do I install a .cab file?

Since this is related to your original issue, please keep it in the same thread. Otherwise, your questions and answers will be disjointed. You should delete this thread and post the question again in your original thread (how to operate a new laptop with xp).
 
Discovered an excellent site for driver updates called driveragent.com. I think its a must have site.

However, I still am unable to install my cab file for my video controller and cant install any video drivers since the VGA Save fail safe driver remains in effect no matter what I do. Also, my touch pad on this laptop doesn't permit me to scroll and I cant get any sound. Other than the, the XP Pro laptop works.

You don't, you can PM the AnandTech Moderator account and ask them to delete or lock it. They may do so, or just let it drop. BTW, try not to cross-post too 😉
