Hi

I want to get rid of my cable desperately as they keep jacking up the prices and dividing watchable channels into packages so you have to pay like $100 a month in order to watch the 5-6 channels you usually do :(

likewise with u-verse, u-verse is about $10 cheaper, not a significant difference.

satellite is not an option due to the fact that i live in apartments and move around a lot so the 2 year satellite contracts are just prohibitting me from getting it.

I could do with just one of those HD Antennas that came out but I have a problem.

My TV monitor is older and only supports component video, it doesnt have any other input, thats it.

All the antennas and digital converters I have seen have S-video, and regular coax cable style output.

I am unable to find any converter whatsoever, perhaps I do not know what name to look for, coax to component sure comes out empty handed as well as many others.

can someone please tell me how do I connect a regular coax into component video without having a cable company box ?

I want to be able to watch regular broadcast stations via over the air broadcasts and antenna.

Thanks !

Sounds like your monitor doesn't have a tuner. You will need an HDTV (ATSC) tuner to hook the antenna to. You won't find a converter that your looking for. There are a couple of HDTV tuner boxes out there. The samsung is the most popular, but the Dish Network DTVPal is just a little more and has dual tuners and a DVR

Dish Network DTVPal HD DVR (Search DTVPal At Sears) should be first hit....

Edit: Here is another one from Samsung

...and of course the monthly payment TiVO.
