So, I have 3x1080p monitors at the moment and I've just orderd 3x1440p monitors to replace them.

My question is, how do I properly hookup those displays to get 7680x1440p @60Hz? All of the monitors (Acer G257HU) have 1 DP, 1 HDMI 2.0 & 1 DVI.

I currently have my 3x1080p monitors (& One 60in 1080p TV) hooked up as follows.

TV - HDMI Direct
Mon 1 DVI-HDMI Cable
Mon 2 DVI-HDMI Cable
Mon 3 Active DP-VGA adapter

My Guess, is that I'll have to scrub the tv connection and use

1xHDMI (HDMI-HDMI) for Monitor #1
1xDVI-HDMI for Monitor #2
and then buy and use 1xDP-DP for Monitor #3

Anyway, I'm trying to get all of them at 1440p @60Hz...possibly 75+ w/OC.

Please assist & Thank You!!!

All the outputs from the first card.
What is your exact card model by the way?

Assuming you have a card with 2x DVI-DL, 1x DP and 1x HDMI
-DVI
-DVI
-Display port

And your TV on HDMI. The monitors you bought are maybe HDMI 2.0 but not your R9 390x.

Don't expect 7680x1440 @60hz with a single R9 390x. You'd need 3 cards for high settings at 60hz.

So, I appreciate the response and thank you for reminding me; the outputs on the 390x are not HDMI 2.0. I guess I only mention it, bc the input on the monitor is, but that's obviously irrelevant if I can't output it.

I have the MSI 8Gb 390X...

Correct again on the inputs..
2 x DL-DVI-D 1 x HDMI 1 x DisplayPort

You'd be surprised how well this thing can game at 5760x1080, 7680x1440 and even 9600x1800 via VSR. I can't get 60fps, bc a lot of things are bottle-necked at those resolutions, but I do run Most games completely maxed out at those resolutions at get at or above 30fps. It depends on the game tho

Anyway, back to it... any recommendations on the connections. I JUST placed an order for a DP-DP cable. I figured I might need it..

Ty again btw

I have been on 7680x1440 since 2012 and my last setup was using 4 x R9 290x. I sold 3x R9 290x this month before Hawaii lose to much value with Polaris and Pascal, and I'm stuck on a single R9 290x until Vega (2017). Can tell you from experience that a single R9 290x/390x (Hawaii) is not enough for our resolution. Even two is borderline.

And like I told you, your monitors should be plugged via:
-DVI, 1st monitor
-DVI, 2nd monitor
-Display ports, 3rd monitor

And this is using straight cables, no adapter.

Got it, I'll plug them in that way and Thank You!!

I'm also waiting for AMD's new chips later this year. I've been stuck on the old AM3+ platform for a While and cannot wait for Zen! On the GPU I'll upgrade as soon as something viable comes to market that can help me push all these pixels a little more effectively.

Btw, I didn't mean to offend anyone with my preferred graphics settings. I just Usually go for visual fidelity over frame rate and honestly (I know it sounds terrible) I don't really mind FPS in the high 20's; especially for games like Dragon Age, the Witcher, etc. Hell, even for Star Wars Battlefront I'd rather run 9600x1800 at a 30fps target than the high 50's I get running at 5760x1080. I will run that lower res if I'm flying/dog-fighting tho. I just seem to need the extra fps up there. Anyway, I'd certainly not be opposed to a beefier GPU. Just like you however, I'm stuck playing the waiting game.

P.S. I do utilize greater than 5Gb of VRAM when gaming at those resolutions. It's possible that's a bit easier for the 390x; having all of that stored on the cards local memory. Actually, that's why I'm not running a Fury card atm. At the resolutions I prefer to play at, the 4gb frame buffer just won't cut it.
