How do I hide a program in the taskbar?

Hi,
How do I hide a specific program that is always running from being displayed in the taskbar and the system tray in WinXP pro? I run it manually as soon as I boot up then I pretty much just have it run 24/7, but i don't want it to clutter up my space. Thanks.

Edit: Sorry, To Clarify... I meant "hide" as truely not shown vs's Microsoft's version of "hide".
 
Go in control panel....taskbar and start menu....in the taskbar, click customize....in there you'll be able to set that program to always hide.
