I have newspro 3.06, but have no list of servers or newsgroups yet, so do I goto usenet using newspro?

Check with your isp to see if they have a news server. If so find out how to configure newspro (if that is a usenet program) to connect to that server and send your login info if necessary. Then you should be able to download a list of newsgroups and get plenty of pr0n. Come on, this is basic usenet setup. Dont tell me you have never used usenet before...

lowing my head, I have never used usenet before, I've known about it for awhile but just decided to start giving it a try, I use charterpipeline and I think they use earthlink.net as their isp, I've been told that I can use the earthlink.net newsgroups at news.earthlink.net but I don't know much about how to set it up. What is the easiest newsreader to use and also high quality?

I dont know much about that program, but basically you go into prefrences (or whatever they call it), enter news.earthlink.net as the server and possibly your email address. Pretty simple really :)

Earthlink has a user's guide that explains how to setup your Outlook Express and other newsreaders for usenet. If you have that book, look for it. If you don't have it, call Earthlink tech support. They will be more than happy to help you set up your software for usenet.

I love usenet. Lots of porn. Screw newspro, get Agent or Free Agent.

do you have a good program to recommend for newsgroups, newspros seems hard, I added a new server, but there's no newsgroups.

You will find detailed instructions for configuring your software on the web:
http://news.cis.dfn.de/en/config.html
There also have a news server, that might offer additional groups that your ISP doesn't

<< and get plenty of pr0n. >>

There are lots of other uses for usenet/internet besides porn, in fact usenet was the majority of information exchange before the web. Once spammers and pornographers make it into a swamp - the vast majority of the brain power that was once contained within the usenet community has left for mailing lists or private message boards... like this one!

There are misconfigured servers out there. But I recommend paying for it if you dont like your server there. But it probably wont be as fast.

Now, that's funny :D

It?s also a great place to get email addresses for mass mailings and best of all it?s *FREE* advertising space; just cross-post your for sale/auction messages to *all* the newsgroups! :)

Oh yeah, those people dont piss anyone off. And putting your email address out there for millions to spam you or crack your box shouldnt be a concern ;) (not to mention downloading the random .exe when you are trying to get mpegs) ;)

if someone says they posted something to usenet, how do you know where to find it? there's tons of groups, is there a search option for a specific file name?

You are connected to the server you configured it to connect to. That server has a list of the groups it collects. If you send a message to that group, the message is stored on that server and passed out to every server that collects that group (with varying degrees of success). So, all the groups you see on your list in agent are all the groups for that server.

interesting indeed, so I am connected to the earthlink news server, so do I add usenet as another server or is usenets groups also transfered to earthlink servers as well?

usenet is the term for these newsgroups. So I do not understand the question.

I thought usenet was a news server like the news.earthlink.net news server which contained a list of groups, I've been trying to subscribe to a group called usenet all this time but couldn't fine it, hehehe

I dont think there is a central repository for every group out there. But the google cache should be pretty good.

Heh, I blame most Microsoft users for the fact that thievery like this exists. I do not have to steal software since everything I use is FREE (in one way or another). ;P
