How do i get X to start at boot-up

i liked the way that that worked in RH/SuSE/Mandrake, but i am tryen slack and it starts in CLI mode. I can use startx, but that only loads it stait to kde, and wont let me chand logins, or window managers.

btw im a semi-newb at linux, I've foold around /w it in the past and use it ok, ijst dont no much the advanced(or simple🙂) stuff. but i do consider my self a neer guru at windows😎

Try init level 4. You will need XDM, KDM, or GDM installed (login managers).
