How do I get the Boot.Ini to stop showing Vista?

I had Vista RC1 installed on a partition of my HD, as I have several times from past beta's etc.

The problem is (and is everytime because I forget how) now I have everything back to normal on my HD but everytime I start the comp it still sits me on the choice screen for vista (default too grrr) and my XP.

I have copy & pasted the default XP boot.ini from microsoft and that did nothing.

my boot.ini looks as such:

[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect

I have also deleted the leftover folders from my C: drive that was created with the install of Vista.

I went through this last time and I dont think I had this much hassle. any help would be appreciated.

When you installed vista, it gets frid of using the boot.ini, its now using th eVista boot method called BCD (see here LINKY)

To get back to Boot.ini, you have to reformat or fix /mbr (something like that)

can you change the order in My Computer, r clilck and properties, Advanced, then startup and recovery ?
