I'm not worried about the stain, just the smell. I've used allmost an entire bottle of fabreze, various other cleaning agents, I have a glade plugin going, and my capret is covered in baking soda right now. This happened fri. night, and the smell has only decreased a little bit.

how much puke are we talking about? warm soapy water and febreeze should have taken care of it... unless we're talking about the "i just drank 4 handles of captain morgans" kind of hurling. In that case i'd say keep washing it out, let it air out.. and then burn and replace the carpet.

Sprinkle baking soda on it and moisten it a bit. Vacuum it when it dries.

why not add a lovely urine smell to overpower that vomit smell?

Or better yet, the lovely smell of feces to overpower both the urine and the vomit!

try taking some lemons, cutting them in half, and rubbing it into the carpet, then rinsing it with a lot of water and sucking it up with a wet vac. if that doesn't work, perhaps try a professional cleaning or at least a bissel steam cleaning? if all else fails, replace it. that must have been some awful, awful puke to still be smelling like that now.

Try baking soda, hydrogen peroxide, and a little liquid detergent. I cant remember the proportions, but it's supposed to kill skunk odors, might work on this as well.

You want to REMOVE the smell not just MASK it.

I would steam clean with some sort of carpet detergent, let dry then Febreeze the hell out of it.

So you can both REMOVE and MASK the smell.
