How do I get started, do I register and then download stuff in the name of anandtech? I've checked out some FAQ's but I'm still stumped.
 
That depending on which project you want to run If you check out the first thread in the forum you will see the projects listed. After you chose the one you want to run check out the faq for that project and most of them are step by step If you need any help with anything there are a lot of teammates here to help you out

In my experiences, find a project that best suits you....then post here and ask about that specific project. I'm sure someone will be more than willing to help you figure out how to get signed up with the TeAm for that specific project.
