Take a picture of something, email it to one of your email addresses, get your phone's email addy (usually your number@vzw.net or something), email yourself the mp3, download and save to your phone.

I guess just any retarded fvck can reply here, eh?

Motorola Mobile PhoneTools version 3.0 software CD plus USB Cable - 98653H

Call BVRP for tech support, and they let you download the newest version as long as you supply them with some kind of issue with Version 3.0, and the serial number from version 3.0 disc.
  • Melody Studio lets you select your favorite music extracts and use them as ring tones for your mobile phone.

Melody Studio converts sound files, including those from audio CDs, to a format which is compatible with your mobile phone.

Using its editing functions, you can select an extract, change the tempo, and define fade in and fade out effects.

This wizard shows you how to select an extract, save it and send it to your mobile phone...
You'll need to have the proper phone selected in MPT:
  • When MPT detects your phone, it reads an ID String stored in the phone. Since Verizon disabled the "multimedia features" of the phone, Verizon Phones identify themselves as V710, E815, V3C, etc... BUT to get MPT to show the MultiMedia Studio option, MPT needs to see the phone as V710M, E815M, V3CM...

There are 3 Tricks to cause the MultiMedia Studio Icon to be displayed, you only need to do ONE of them.... Options 2 and 3 must be done PRIOR to MPT detecting your phone. Option 1 must be done AFTER Mpt detects your phone.

    1. use MPT's SETUP menu -> General Setup -> Communication tab -> Change Modem -> click Next -> (select device screen, highlight your Moto USB modem) -> click Next -> check the box for "Do not automatically detect the driver -> click Next -> Select CDMA from the left column. V710 users Select V710M, E815 users select E815M, and V3C users select V3CM from the right column and click Next and finish. It should go back to Initializing on the MPT screen, but should connect. From the icons on the right, you should now see Multimedia Studio in the icon bar on the right...

Do you have to have any special plan to be able to receive e-mails on your phone?

All I have to do with my T-Mobile RAZR is connect via bluetooth and copy mp3s to the phone, then I can set them as ring tones.

Well I found my phone's e-mail address, but I don't think it will let me set soundfiles to ringtones. I've got an e815 phone and if anyone knows how to do this, I'd appreciate a little help.

usb cable - same as the one for your camera. motorola phone tools v 4.23 to transfer from pc to phone.

easy

So you need to hack your phone using a USB data cable in order to set e-mailed mp3's as ringtones?

Once you "open" the phone, you won't have to dick around with emailing or whatever. You can even use the bluetooth feature as it was intended.

I must apologize to amdforever2 for coming down so hard. Though I do come here to vent, I sometimes forget there are real people behind those avatars. Just coming off an aggrivated flu, I started a treatment of inhaled steroids, which may be making me a little more pissy than usual.

Peace, bro

Pulmacort? The cortico-steroids right?

But wait a second!
I thought RZRS was the perfect cell phone!?!?
How can this be? :Q

Shame its not like my Nokia with the SD card.
All I gotta do is plug it into my card reader and copy over one gig of whatever the fvck I want. MID, MP3, WAV, OGG and I think AAC, but I dont have any of those.

As for free midis, just load up your favorite file-sharing program and do a search. Since they are normally under 5KB, you should have 10 mllion in less than a day.
