how do I get rid of the W32/Pate.b.worm virus?

sorry I don't know which forum this one goes into... so I'm posting it in the off-topic forum... sorry about that

I got this virus somehow, and now it's pissing the hell out of me. I install McAfee Virusscan and now when I started my computer an infinate number of files were detected as infected. I heard this virus infects explorer.exe... this is hell. any help would be appreciated. thank you!

edit: search for this: w32 pate.b.worm

It looks like McAfee and Norton both clean it w/o any problems, but you have to disable system restore.

Symantec calls it pinfi
or
Network associates calls it w32/pate.b.worm

Edit: you might need to reboot into safe mode
