How do i get rid of the new voicemail icon on my Razr?

My phone's screen has an icon that says there's a new VM, but there are no new voicemails..which can be confusing if I ever do get one. How do I stop these false positives??

3. delete and then press *
4. hang up the phone....
5. pickup phone
6. call a girl, ask her out...

I had this same problem once. No messages, but the icon would not go away no matter what I did. Verizon told me to call and leave a message, and then check it and delete it. That seemed to work for me.

EDIT: Nevermind, you did it.
