How do I get people to come to my site?

I just started a website (link in my sig), it's still not done, but how do I get people to come to it? How do I submit to search engines, and how expensive is it?

If you build it they will come.

On a more serious note, try to get linked to from other popular sites on similar topics, and I'm pretty sure you can submit to search engines for free.

Ack.. Maybe make a decent site?

Not trying to be a d!ck, but the site's horrible.

Does it look like it's having a seizure to you?

No, thats me after looking at it.

I would get rid of the ads until you get a steady stream of visitors...

You can use statcounter.com to track how many people go there.

I know how many people visit, I can track it with AdSense and with GeoCities (my host). Yes, I am using Frontpage, should I use something else? To whoever said something about rice: the only ricey thing I will have on my site is the underglow tutorial. Everything else is maintenance and repair (and maybe some performance stuff, but that's not rice).

I know I have almost no content right now, but I just borrowed my friend's camera today, so in the next couple days I will have more. And I really don't feel like taking everything apart in my car again just to take pictures.

I have had the site up for 3 or 4 days. I plan to get the rest of the tutorials written within the next week (the ones that I don't have to take my car apart for).

you know, a really good way is to post a round-a-bout advertisement for it on an internet forum frequented by hundreds of users.

or make a thread entitled "critique my work" and put a link to your page in there.

Hmmm... is that sarcasm?

I want people that will come back to my site, not 1-time visitors.
