how do i get out of work!?

right then, i work at blockbuster
i work 6-12 (2 hours from now)
a few days ago i tried to find someone to cover my shift with no luck, samething happened today! iv got a party to go to..
anyone got a good suggestion on an excuse to call in to get outa work!?

I once made up a story that my family was selling our cabin in Idaho, and that I had to go up there and clean it up so it would look nice. Needless to say, it was a lie, but a pretty good one I thought. Well, my parents still thought I was going to work, and tried to come down and see me (dont ask me why). They got me busted. I dont work there anymore. Manager was a bitch that took breaks the whole day to go smoke. Have a better job now.

Make some story up, but make sure its a good one.

did i mention my job suxx and i havent gotten a raise in 18 months even thou im one of the top sellers. anyways, im not bitchen - just looking to get outa work for a day

I am usually on the receiving end of the excuses, but since you don't work under me:

Car trouble is a good one - walked outside and car wouldn't start, tried jumping it but it wasn't the battery...
or, someone slashed one of your tires and you have nevere changed a tire before... deny any membership to AAA or anything so they can't help you

Also, say you tried asking neighbors for a ride but no one seems to be home, and your parents/housemates are out of town for the weekend, and took the keys to their cars

I worked at a corp BBV and they were a little slow to give me a raise, too. But it beat working some of the other jobs in the area. I still miss my store, but most of the people from there moved on or left.
