It gets even more complicated. Look on Mapquest and it lists it as"Nw 30th St."...
LOL.

Yeah, it was originally NW because on the sign you can see where NW was and then they covered it up with a big green stamp thingy. (It's official) So now it is just West and not NW... WEIRD. 🙁 Seriously fucked up street.

Shouldn't your parents be taking care of this?

My parents don't own this place... 😵 Read my L&R thread, you'll see how fucked up my life is... Apparently almost everyone thinks I am a failure at almost everything but can change it all in just a blink of an eye.

It isn't a mapping error so much as it is a gap in the mapping data. NAVTEQ/TeleAtlas just have not been back to map those extensions to W 29TH - W 31ST streets. And the reason that UPS can't find you isn't a mapping error, it is just a driver that doesn't know the area. The drivers don't realise there is a 2 block gap in those streets, so when they can't find your number, they assume the address is wrong. USPS knows where it is because they assign the numbers and they know every deliverable address in the country.

NAVTEQ at least somewhat knows where you live because they know where your ZIP+4 is located as that plots right at the end of your street. They just don't have the street-level data in their database yet.

Map - Street Atlas 2009

So You should be in B instead of what Google shows as A. Street Atlas 2009 shows it as 30th Street.

Yes, that is correct. 🙂

Yes, and UPS probably doesn't hook up with USPS on most of these things do they?

I checked the county property maps, and they clearly show it as "W 30th St." and only one property with that address. Not sure what the mapping services are missing.

Edit: I used to do this stuff all the time when I worked for a land surveyor.
That would be "updating". I use a Garmin on the job and often a street number will show where the parcel number would have it, or not show anything if it's a private developement, who add their own street names and they remain "mystery"streets until the next updated software release if it polls those cities.

I feel your pain. Today I was looking for an address that was nowhere near where the Garmin put it, nor was it in sequence with other numbers along the same parkway. How's that for making it easy? The only reason I found it was I thought like a planner and not an engineer.

Alright, UPS delivered my stuff today! HURRAY, they found it. 🙂 Nice UPS guy too. Really nice.. 🙂 Got me Antec 400 and Wireless card. hehe.

It's just a mapping error.

My GPS thinks our house is at the opposite end of the street for some reason.

And your street is known. It's West 30th.

😕

No, it's not... Look west and you'll see like 70 houses all crammed next to eachother on three streets... That's where I live.

http://maps.google.com/maps?hl...0.005603,0.009656&z=17

Is this centered on your street?

If so, I'd be willing to wager that it is 30th Way. look at 33rd-35th Way just north of there..
Ahh, I see.

Yeah, strange that the streets aren't labeled. It's obviously a new construction. Just give it time. I don't know how long it takes, though.

On another note, jesus fucking Christ. I don't know about anybody else, but that housing development makes me sick. Who would want to live there? It looks like .. I don't know. Horrible.

It looks like a SimCity screenshot.

Vancouver, WA 98660-2088 Puts me on the wrong place of the map on Google Maps and it is a LEADING cause as to why UPS cannot deliver shit to my house. They don't know where the street is. http://maps.google.com/maps?hl...1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wl Shows where it thinks I live, but I live just west of that on a street that has no name, along with two streets right below and above me with no name... (29th and 31st)

Any idea how to get my place known so I can actually receive shipments? Only place that knows where I live is USPS. 🙁

if you actually dated / been the the chicks you claim UPS would know where you lived.

Another reason I couldn't stand living in WA. Street names made no sense when actual separate streets(no continuation) would have the same name. I had the same problem with google, UPS, etc not being able to find where I lived.

When you order things online, isn't there a little box where it says "Special Instructions" where you can add things like this?

If it's shipped fedex express you can have it held at a fedex kinko's location for pickup. no extra charge.
