He has a 3.5mm stereo audio cable that belongs to me. I need the cable now. this guy is not picking up my call.

I left him a few voice messages and a message on facebook to tell him return my cable before I have to harass him for it

first, anyone can tell me how do I block my caller id? *67? just want to make sure

How should I proceed from here?

I never have a good feeling about this guy as a friend. I may as well call him my ex-friend. all i want is my cable back.

You're willing to break up a friendship over a $7 cable? Nice friendship.

Sounds like a case of the straw breaking the camel's back.

Is that how the saying goes?

let me clarify one thing. we are never close friends. can you believe this guy is avoiding me for a $7 cable? the cable was accidently left in him place back 4 months ago when he borrowed from me. he never mentioned anything about it to me. to me that's a serious flaw in his integrity.

Just suck it up and head to an electronics store in the morning to purchase a new one. Heck if you lived near by I would tell you to stop on by and pick one up from me. I have 4 of those laying around from old speaker sets.

How do you know he's ducking you because of the cable?

I've let my friends borrow DVDs for more than a year, and PS2 games for even longer, and eventually they got them back to me after I completely forgot about them. If I remembered and asked for them, they gave them back.

Maybe he didn't think twice about it because it's a cheap freaking cable? What makes you think he's avoiding you?

I thought about buying one. I am sure I can find one for a few bucks, but money is not a problem here. I am just pissed about this guy is avoiding for this miscellaneous cable he doesn't need.

it is pretty clear he is avoiding me. why do you think he is not replying to my calls or message?

So let me get this straight. You're going after him for a less than $10 cable that he borrowed (or you left over at his place) 4 months ago?

Tell us what he really did. Did he sleep with your girl? You want to sleep with his girl? Because if either of those two scenarios is not what's going on, you're a loser.

You will die earlier than you might with that sort of mindset. Induceing stress of one's own construction.
Either learn to be a better custodian of one's own property or let the damn thing go already.

DO you really want to give this much power in your life to this event?

Just think, for the cost of a new cable you'll never have to see this person again.

Sounds like a deal to me.

I am very selective about my friends. people like this normally don't enter my life, he is just an exception.

Buy a new cable in the meantime, but keep after him until you get the cable back. I also don't like irresponsibility like this. Example: Someone asked me to work on a project with him. Ok, fine. I e-mailed and called him as to when we would meet. No replies. Fine, I was going to do the project myself anyway. He told me on Tuesday then that he'd found someone else to work with. Ok, fine too. Sure would be nice if he'd have communicated that simple fact, rather than outright ignoring my phonecall and e-mails. It really is not all that time consuming to send a brief e-mail to someone.
