How do I get Firefox to play embedded sound files automatically?

For example: http://m-w.com/cgi-bin/dictionary?sound

Click on the red speaker icon. A window will pop up and the word will be pronounced out loud (supposedly). I can get it to work by clicking "Click ... default audio player", but not automatically.

Also, Firefox says I need to install a missing plugin, which is Quicktime. But I've installed it twice and no luck.

Any help? I'm using the latest (or one of the latest) version of Firefox and Quicktime.

I've set Quicktime to handle WAVs, btw.

I tried that, my virus scanner says "Malware Found" every time.
