edit: i dont know how i fixed it but i just messed around with all the sound stuff i could find till it worked...

well, i have my 5.1 surround sound speaker system all hooked up and it is set as 5.1 in windows, but... i can't seem to figure out how to set it up so that dvds will play 5.1 on my computer, i currently downloaded an ac3 filter thinking that would do the trick, but it ended up just cutting off the voices, so it seems like it split up channels, but the center, and back left and right still have no sound?? any ideas??

No sound from center and rear channels, huh? How about the sub? If your sub is good then I would suspect that Windows thinks you have a 2.1 system. Or if your speakers are smart enough to be self-aware, maybe they think they're a 2.1 system.
What sound card and speakers are you using?

BTW, if anyone is really expert at this sort of thing, I have yet to get a signal through the center channel of my Logitech Z-680s from an nForce2 MCP-T, with either digital or analog settings. Has anyone found a fix for this yet?
