How do i fix messed up icon for windows98SE?

I tried scandisk but it wasnt that and everything seems fine but they just look like This.

any suggestions? i really dont want to reinstall and if that's the only way i guess ill just use it like this as its only problem is cosmetic. Thanx
 
Its very simple. All you need to do is locate the system "icon cache" and delete it. I think the file is called ShellIconCache. It should be located in the root of your windows directory. After the file is deleted, it will force Windows to re-initialize all of the icons. This will occur after a reboot.

Thanx brian, i knew it would be something simple. because i didnt delete any jpg or ico files. probably some associated file that i deleted messed it up. THANX AGAIN
