OK, third time's the charm. (I won't get into how I'm an idiot, so I'll just tell you that I was having some problems with my account...). OK, here it goes. AGAIN.

I have some CAB files that I need to extract. But, they are corupt. WinZIP gives the following message:

<< WinZip cannot open C:\my documents\data1.cab because it is not in the standard Microsoft CAB format (as defined in mid-1998). The "signature bytes" required by the Microsoft CAB specification are missing. >>

The files are from an Install Sheild installation, but I've lost the setup EXE and I don't remember where I downloaded this program. I do not believe they are encrypted.... but you never know!

Is there any way to extract the data inside the CAB, or possibly repair the CAB? I know the data is there, I just can't get to it.

Thanks

As Winzip showed you, there aren't really 'cab' files in the MS sense of the word. The install shield ones use their own format, and I don't know of any tools (other than some Install shield developer tools) that will let you open them up.

Like he said, they aren't corrupt. I remember way back in 95 I couldn't open em. Doubt you can still.
