I have a Micron prebuilt with a KT133 mobo in it. I also have the 4.25a VIA drivers on a cd and I'm tempted to install them but I don't want to screw anything up. I looked around System Information but didn't see anything...

Just reinstall them. I don't think it matters. I've installed new versions over older versions just fine.

Also, when you install, you have the choice of uninstalling as well. You could try that if you like..

KDOG,

Ive done the same with zero problems, just make sure you leave the option to uninstall them as EA has suggested.

well a little more info about what os might help. but anyway if you have VIA 4.12 or earlier version installed you neeed to unsinstall it first. Then you can install the 4.25a.. and and you wait few days you can use 4.26 which is beta version right now. If you are using win2k install4.26 straightaway. It will improve you HDD performance to a great extent.
