how do I find out what HDD I have without taking apart

my computer. I've checked the device manager and also the BIOS with no luck. Any suggestions?

It should show on post, if you have a OEM machine (HP, CPQ) you may need to hit escape, or tab to show the post instead of the vendor logo.

I knew I saw this post elsewhere... Anyway, just in case you missed it in the OS forum...

right-click on any hard drive in My Computers then go to properties. Under the Hardware tab, there should be a list of your drives and type.

What hardware tab? I was trying your trick out.. and it didn't like me. I'm in Win98. I didn't think I remembered a Hardware tab in hard drive properties..
