how do I figure out what the "PCI multimedia Audio Device" is?

I have installed all the PCI card I know of: sound blaster and network card, but under my control panel - system - device manager, there is still an "other device" PCI multimedia audio device listed. How do I figure out what this is or what drivers I should even look for to install this device?

Thanks

Also some one please answer my Sound blaster compatability question below

Assuming the mobo in question is the Epox EP-8K7A referenced in your sig, device manager is probably detecting the onboard sound card. You need to disable it in the CMOS.

and which cmos description would that be? that would probably explain my sound card problems below as well....thank you

I would expect there to be a jumper on the mobo in order to disable that onboard audio..

What dost though manual say? Did you RTFM?

Look in your manual for how to disable the on-board stuff. It's usually listed as "Integrated blah blah".

The listing could be for the game port, wave device, etc. What is currently listed there?

<< Did you RTFM? >>

Did you mean this?

The 8K7A allows you to disable onboard audio thru the system bios.

o, kinda related to this

how do i disable the onboard sound on my old ass Compaq Pentium 2 motherboard?

In the BIOS, I can barely access anything. I dont have manuals, and I dont have jumped on board to adjust 🙂
