I have this video and it's .AVI, and I think that's why WMP isn't picking it up, and giving me an 'not supported type' error.

Can someone help me out?

If it's a divx, you can try playing it with a divx player that you can get from download.com. I usually get that error when I try to play a divx that is incomplete. In that case, I use a program called Divxfix. It rebuilds the index so you can watch it

click once on name, hover the arrow over the name. eventually you'll be able to type a new name. then type moviename.xxx

actually, wmp doesn't give a rats ass what the extension is, it could be 000, dat, txt, whatever, if its playable at all by WMP it will play it.

I also tried PowerDVD, and that didn't do anything either. Is that a DivX player?

I'll check out that program, thanks.

Doh.

BTW, I checked out that program and it rebuilded the index but it said i had a corrupted frame on 49706, and WMP still dosen't play it, as well as PowerDVD dosen't do anything at all, even after pressing play button repeadtedly.

powerdvd plays dvds. you probably don't have the codec installed. if you know it's divx then just get the codec for that. otherwise just get a codec pack and be done with it.

For that error it is almost always because you do no thave the correct codec installed. There are a ton of .avi codecs out there.
