How do I do this in MS Word?

I want to automatically put a table header in every new page that MS Word creates. I want to be able to change the contents of the table for each page. I tried using the Header option, but every time I change the contents the alterations show up on the other pages.

Is there a way to do this?

Thanks!

Open word, create a table, select the first row, right click, table properties, row, check the "repeat as header row at the top of each page" checkbox.

That advice is for a table header. However, I was a bit confused by your post as to what you are exactly trying to do. Do you want a page header, or do you want a table header?

We certainly don't have one that gives advice in less than 24 hours. But we do have a place which is "a public meeting place, a Pub, if you will... A place for computer junkies to boldly post Off Topic...Things you might want to tell everyone... Or things you wouldn''t say to anyone else." This post is perfect for something that he wanted to ask everyone. Thus it is a perfect Off Topic post. I've heard people ask computer questions in a pub. Haven't you?

Off Topic is meant for things that CANNOT belong to other topics. We have a software forum. If everyone with software interests would actually post there, instead of all over the other forums, for example OT, then the forum would be way more active and it wouldn't take forever and a day to get a response.

Sheesh.

With your logic, why have ANY other forums? Just one HUGE Off Topic and be done with it?

Hey thanks for the replies,

I could've posted in the Tech Support, but I have to turn in this report tonight, so I wanted a quicker response. :) The table header pertains to different sections. In certain sections I have text the goes over to the next page. Since each part of the section may have different data, the header for that page containing the data should mention the data used. That's why I want to be able to edit the headers uniquely for each page because I do not know which data will appear. It is dependent on the length of my report.

Thanks!

One huge off topic is certainly better than your "one forum per thread" ideal. The reason to go out of off topic is for the people who want highly specific views of their posts. Otherwise, one big forum with lots of people is the best place for the fastest and most accurate responses. Why prevent us from that?

go to 'insert' -> 'section break types' -> 'next page'

then go to 'view' -> 'header and footer'

a header and footer toolbar should show up. unclick the button that is 'link to previous'.

do the same thing ecah time you want to use a different header. you will need to create section breaks, and tell word not to link the headers.

Thanks, Gene! That helps.

By the way, I posted to the Software Apps section (5 mins apart from this thread) link. Only 7 views and no replies compared to 98 here. I hope you understand, Nik. If time was on my side, then I could've waited.
