How do I do this? grrr...

I have about 50 pictures on 1600x1200 resolution.

With Adobe Photoshop, I would like all those images to be resized into 640x480s (or any desired res.)

I'm sure there's an automatic way for me to do this rather than doing them one by one for all 50 pictures... Could someone help me out by walking through the steps ONE by ONE?

I don't know about Photoshop, but try looking for a batch image conversion software.

I downloaded a piece of software called Advanced Batch Converter. It was the demo version, so it would only process 6 images on the list at a time, but it was very fast and very easy to use. Try checking download.com for it.

Look on google for 'batch conversion', or get Paintshop pro

I use Irfanview, it will automatically resize to that resolution.
it's free, it's small, it works great for things like this.

phtoshop can do this

first you have to create an automate job, which I dont know how to do, then you go to file / automate / batch and choose it there

you could also do file / automate / web gallery, does a bit more but it resizes the pictures

Some instructions (They are recording a rotate action, just change that to resizing an image). When you run the batch process after you record the action pay attention to the source and destination folders if you want to keep copies of your original images.

IIRC there's one more step you should add after resizing -- I think it's unsharp mask -- to counteract any artifacts from the resize. I'll have to look it up in my PS bible

It can but for something so simple... I wouldnt bother using it... personally.

I've noticed it's the other way around.

When I shrink an image, I can sharpen the picture and it comes out looking great. If I don't sharpen it, it will look a bit blurry.

You can do it with actions as well. You can then do a batch action and BOOM! Done. PM me if you want to get instructions.... I really dont have time right now to explain it.

In WinXP, you just select the pictures, right click & click on "resize"

VOILA!

Open in Adobe Photoshop. Top line click "Image," Choose Image Size, and type in the size you would like it to be resized to.

Or if you want them resized for the web

Open in Adobe Photoshop. Top line click "File," Choose "Save for web." once the selection comes up, look to your right and see two tabs about middle of screen, one says "image size." Choose that and resize the image to your liking and save it and it will be smaller kb size than before.
