I currently have just my account (administrator) set up at my business and when I am not around my employees can log on and use the internet.
I would like to create a user account for the two employees and have the internet disabled when they log on. I will create a password for mine so they can log on to my account
The question is, after I create thier user accounts, how do I disable the internet so they cant use it ?

I am running XP but may be upgrading to Windows 7 if that means anything.
Thanks

In Win7 you can just use parental controls and disable their Internet easily. You can also just block port 80 on their MAC address if you have a router sharing out your Internet connection.

Are you talking of one computer with few accounts, or few computers?

parental controls. Just set the time limits by blocking all access around the clock. It works great cause it kicks my kids off at 10 every night.

Set the permissions on the web browser executables to deny those two users from executing said executable.

Hi, can you tell me where I would set the permissions. I am not sure what you mean by setting execuatables in the web browser or how to get to it.
Thanks

he said hes on one computer, blocking the MAC would block the machine that they all use, which is no good.

which works if theyre not clever enough to find a way to load a browser on a flash drive...and only blocks web pages. depending on what other permissions they have it could still allow email, IM, and any other kind of access.

im curious as to whether or not that machine requires internet access regularly and what kind of router is at the business. my dad has 3 PCs acting as POS machines, all connected to a switch, connected to a router.

They practically never need an internet connection, maybe if I needed to do some kind of maintenance or something. The MACs are blocked on those machines except for the rare time remote-access is required.

is that a possible consideration or do you all use the same PC regularly?
