How do I disable control panel for non Administrator in Win 2k?

Thanks for the suggestion with the TweakUI. I was just wondering if we could do it without TweakUI cause I know my school pc can hide it. So I think there must be another way to do it. Thanks

Change the permissions on the .cpl file. That's how I would lock down machines at a university I worked at. We would only allows administrators, and system the ability to read the display, network, and add/remove programs control panels.

You can disable it for all users on the computer if you:

Open the MMC (start, run, mmc)
Add Snap-In, Group Policy (console, add snap-in)
Expand Local Computer
Expand User Configuration
Expand Admin Templates

In the control panel section, there is an option to add/remove

🙂

Hope that helps!

Gah, not in front of my 2k machine, heh. Look for the admin templates section. It's in there. I probably missed an expansion in there somewhere *mutters*

I'd check on this machine but the mmc is disabled for us *grin* kinda sucks.
