How do I disable acoustic management on my Maxtor drive?

Is there a utility to do this or is it in XP somewhere? I have a Maxtor DiamondMax 10 6B250S0 250GB 7200 RPM Serial ATA150 Hard Drive
Thanks,
Joe

I looked and couldn't find squat. A google search revealed a Maxtor program called Amsat. I'll give it a try.

Amset (setacm package) or Hitachi's Feature Tool should do it, although I have not used 'em on serial drives.

Thanks! I tried amset, and I got a strange buzz out of my speaker and it locked up before I could even start to change anything. Hitachi's utility wouldn't allow me to do it either.

I'll try winaam and see how I make out.
