How do I deermine the native resolution of an LCD monitor?

You can look it up online.

Or you can go to settings and see what the highest it will alow you to go. Because you can go lower than the native but not higher.

Look it up online, or go through all your resolutions until you hit the highest one that doesn't look like crap

not necessarily true...on my laptop, the native is 1024x768 (15" screen), but i can go up to 2048x1536, but i will have to scroll over to see other parts of the desktop.
