How do I convince my parents to let me move in with a guy?

One you stop getting them to pay for your stuff, then you can be Ms. Independent, until then they can tell you what to do since they are paying for most of your life.

This sounds like a mix of Chrissy and Cindy from Three's Company.

Cindy moved in to be closer to UCLA. Janet and Chrissy agreed on having Jack for "safety" prurposes.

Plus what place do you work that pays close to 13 bucks an hour as a waitress.

tell them to trust you, that they have raised you this far, and that you will show them that their hard work on all those years parenting was well worth it... tell them you'll prove them right that you were raised well.

Come and knock on our door.....
We've been waiting for you......
Where the kisses are hers and hers and his,
Three's company too.

Come and dance on on our floor......
Take a step that is new.....
We've a loveable space that needs your face,
Three's company too.

You'll see that life is a frolic and laughter is calling for you......
Down at our rendez-vous,
Three's company, too!!!!!!

Dang, beat me to it 😀

Do your parents know the guy? Bring your two future roommates over for dinner at your parents house.

my parents gladly let me move out, infact my dad signed my apartment paperwork with me, he was a co-signer.
just dont mess up and HAVE to move back home. make sure your ready dammit.

Don't piss your parents off. Once they screw you and you want to go home, you won't be able to. Why can't you just find a place to move in with a couple of girls?

Do it anyways, the worst thing your folks could do is kick you out of their house.

Err wait.

They can take the car (unless the title is in her name only...doubtful), car insurance, health insurance, and cell phone too (possibly school money would stop also?).

If I were you, I'd stay home as long as possible and sock away money unless you don't get along with your parents. Start up a Roth IRA or something.

Get married with the guy. Your parents shouldn't mind you living with him then.

It's totally worth it to save an hour every day.

I don't know if it's been said but whenever they start trying to discuss it with you sing this at the top of your lungs:

:music:" Come and knock on our door.....

Read thread... but it bears repeating.

and you get presents

It sounds like you have a good relationship with your parents right now. I would take what they say as good advice. Take it into consideration. If you still want to do it, I don't know what to tell you as far as convincing them.

My advice would be to not live with a guy.

Are you friends with the guy you'd be living with?

How about having him and the other female roommate over to meet the parents so they can see for themselves that he's not a creep?

My brother in-law rents a room and the owner and his other roommate are both female and it's never been an issue.

I can understand your parents concern though since there are a lot of weirdos out there but thats still no reason to say no, especially if you already know the guy you'd be living with.
