When it is not obvious what service an animal provides, only limited inquiries are allowed. Staff may ask two questions: (1) is the dog a service animal required because of a disability, and (2) what work or task has the dog been trained to perform. Staff cannot ask about the person’s disability, require medical documentation, require a special identification card or training documentation for the dog, or ask that the dog demonstrate its ability to perform the work or task.

It works. My wife had her pug classified as a service animal (for a legit reason, emotional support animal to handle the stress of flying) but they're as good as a seeing eye dog, no pet rent, no pet deposit, nothing.

Emotion support animals are NOT service animals. There are more limited places that they are allowed to go...not that selfish people don't abuse the crap out of the laws due to confusion. Although airplanes and apartments ARE two places that they are allowed.

They call it a Service Animal or a Companion Animal, something like that. Find a greedy doctor to write you a note saying you need it for your mental well being. Nothing a landlord can do.....according to one or two newspaper articles, so it must be true.

Love for one of my tenants to try this with me. Great way to not get your lease renewed. Ill definitely keep this shenanigan in mind as I inspect the unit after the lease term.
