How do i convert link to working url?

i have my host file modified to block redirecting.

stripping out the ad referral links, the url comes up as:
www.aliexpress.com%252Fstore%252Fproduct%252FClear-Convoy-C8-with-XPL-HI-LED-copper-DTP-board-and-ar-coated-inside-new-firmware%252F330416_32732511943.html%26aff_short_key%3DFY7eeiQZf

which is invalid.

how do I get it to work in IE or chrome?

just looking at the url it was obvious they had replaced / (forward slash) with %252F, so i just did the reverse

I use the "remove redirects" bookmarklet from here. It's old so i don't know if it works with Chrome.

You have it in your bookmarks toolbar, correct?
When you're on any page, if there are links with redirects, just click on the "remove redirects" tool and it will remove all redirects on that page only.
It's just a one time deal though, so if you go back to the same page later you have to do it again to remove the redirects.
Yeah, i just tried a test page. Even after removing the redirects just refreshing the page brings them back so you have to use the tool again. I guess i don't run into redirecting links often enough for it to be a bother. Useful tool when you need it.

In your "here's an example ink" that you posted, nothing is happening using the remove redirects tool for me. The link stays the same. Clicking on that link, the redirect is blocked by Ghostery for me.

In your "it re-directs to" link however, after using the remove redirects tool the link changes to:
http://flash.newegg.com/product/9SI...tion&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-cables-_-na-_-na
which i can get to.


I guess i'm more used to seeing redirect links that look more like this

http://www.site 1.com/out/?id=92899308&g=42&u=http://www.site 2.com/???/???/

and getting turned into this

http://www.site 2.com/???/???/

I'm no expert in this so i'm not sure of the technical aspects or redirecting links.
I'm using Firefox, which browser are you using?

By the way, after using the tool the link looks the same on the page (still starts with jdoqocy), but hover over it to see that it changes to (starts with flash.newegg)

the 'remove redirects' tool doesn't work in IE.
but it works in chrome the same way in your post.

it doesn't do anything for my 'here's an example' link but works fine in the "it re-directs to" link.

unfortunately, I don't have an easy way to go from the slickdeals page to a useable format that the 'remove redirects' tool can use.
any ideas on that?

OpenDNS, block the URL if this is to entail everyone on your network. If your host file is large, consider disabling your DNS Client service in services. I heard that will make things faster and won't choke.

Your router, too should be able to block URLs. Just wild card it *.
